EVENT OVERVIEW
National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic (The Golf Classic) is a series of golf events open to amateur golfers of either gender to benefit National Kidney Foundation. The Golf Classic events will be played throughout the United States. All rules and inclusion apply both to the golfer and non-golfer participants. The Golf Classic is a two-stage competition. In the first stage, golfers will compete in one or many of the 30 events across the US. At each of these events, the top finishing teams in the Gross division and the top finishing teams in the Handicap Index division will be invited to participate in the National Finals at Pebble Beach where teams will play the Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Club and The Links at Spanish Bay (additional registration fees and other hotel/transportation fees required).

ELIGIBILITY AND RULES OF GOLF
The Golf Classic is open to all amateur golfers. An official USGA Handicap Index is not required to participate in the Gross division. If teams desire to compete in the Handicap Index division, members must have a current and valid USGA Handicap Index.

Play is governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf and local rules for each course. Local rules will be provided by each course and will be available on site upon request. Questions with respect to the rules of golf and scoring will be settled by the on-site course Golf Professional presiding over the event and the NKF, whose decisions will be final.

ENTRIES
Participants will enter by completing a registration form, and paying the entry.

Entry/registration fees and donations are non-refundable. Golf Classic organizers reserve the right to reject any application that, in its sole discretion, is incomplete, not compliant with the terms and conditions of The Golf Classic or otherwise ineligible. Openings for each Regional event are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis at the time of reservation. Teams may participate in any number of Regional events.

The Organizer is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected or otherwise undeliverable mail, or entries that cannot be processed due to phone, network, electronic or computer hardware or software failure, or technical failures of any kind.

SUBSTITUTIONS
Any number of substitutes are permitted for registered team members at Regional events.

EVENT FORMAT

TEAM SCRAMBLE: A FORMAT FOR EXCITEMENT
Each local National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic is conducted using a four-person team scramble format. Each team member tees off, and the best drive is selected. All four players then play from that spot. This process continues until the hole is completed. Each team must use at least three drives from each player during the course of the round. The team with the lowest score wins.

The team scramble format provides everyone — men and women, new golfers and experienced low-handicappers with a competitive, yet social day of golf, as well as an opportunity to win valuable prizes and possibly an invitation to Pebble Beach.

HANDICAP INDEX DIVISION
Any amateur golfer, male or female, is eligible to compete in the National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic.

Every team competing in the NKF Golf Classic must consist of four amateur golfers whose total USGA Handicap Index is 42.0 or more.

Only one golfer on each team may have a USGA Handicap Index of 8.0 or less.

Golfers must have submitted at least 3 scores towards their Handicap Index in the last 12 months.

Golfer's handicaps are effective as of the latter of:
(i) the day of registration for the tournament or
(ii) the date 60 days prior to the event.

Each golfer with a USGA Handicap Index will be required to present a current and active copy of his or her Handicap Index card to the tournament committee at the time of registration.

All golfers will be required to present a photo ID on the day of the event.

Any team that contains a member(s) who does not have USGA Handicap Indexes may compete in the Gross Division.

GROSS DIVISION
A Gross Division has been added for teams that do not have Handicap Indexes. Top finishing teams in both Divisions will be invited to compete at the National Finals (additional fees required).

Any amateur golfer, male or female, is eligible to compete in the National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic.

The National Kidney Foundation has the right to deny the entry of any players or teams. The competition is deemed to be closed/final when the results are announced and the prizes have been presented.
NATIONAL FINALS
Teams intending to compete/participate in the National Finals must be able to be in Pebble Beach, CA. Substitutions are allowed with 48-hours' notice. Team members qualifying for the National Finals are responsible for making arrangements and paying for their own transportation, registration fee and other incidentals to attend this event.
